The New York Knicks secured another victory against the Trailblazers Wednesday evening and will play the Indiana Pacers Friday night at Madison Square Garden. Paly alumnus Jeremy Lin (’05) scored six points and had six assists in tonight’s game.

[NEW YORK CITY] – In the wake of the New York Knicks’ head coach Mike D’Antoni’s resignation, Mike Woodson captured his first win as the new Head Coach in a 121-79 rout of the Portland Trailblazers.

The 42-point win was the biggest margin of victory in the history of the Knicks’ franchise’s history. New York’s defense was stout and they only conceded 29 points in the first half; the Knicks also had five players score in double figures.

The Viking Sports Magazine and InFocus took to the streets in Times Square in New York City following a sold-out performance of Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark on Broadway at Foxwoods Theatre. Linsanity hit home for many New Yorkers because of the very recent and exciting win, though some weren’t as informed of the No. 17 player’s recent successes. Here’s what they said of “Linsanity.”

“It’s [Linsanity] a great thing – it resembles team sports and that’s why I bought this [a Linsanity t-shirt]. It’s my retun to professional basketball watching, because otherwise, college bastketball is much better. At least, it’s brought to attention of New York the beauty of team basketball.” – Bill, New York City Resident, walking his dog at 11 p.m. in Times Square

“It’s a good story, something different that you don’t see it every day. Tonight we went into the game and he [Lin] didn’t get much playing time, but the Knicks were good.” – Nick, Miami Resident, wearing a white Nike Linsanity t-shirt

“The reason why we bought these shirts is that he has good values, and he has good Christian values, like I do, and not that many guys come from Harvard.” – Mike, Miami Resident, wearing a black and red Nike Linsanity t-shirt

“He’s the fourth player in the history of Harvard University to make it to the NBA. The bad thing about Harvard is that they make [the athletes] go to class. No, it’s great – he’s a good ball-player. If he keeps going this way, in about two or three years, he’s going to be a very good NBA player. ” – Michael Mulheren, New York City-based Actor who played J. Jonah Jameson in Spiderman

“Jeremy Lin… Oh! I know who he is – he’s the sports guy. You can’t even ask me that question [what I think of Jeremy Lin] – I have no answer. Is that an answer, that I have no answer?” – Emily Shoolin, Actress who played Emily Osborne in Spiderman

“He’s like the amazing baksetball player- he went off the bench. I can’t say I’m Linsane because I can’t say I’ve never watched YouTube; I only watch the clips on youtube.” -Rebecca Faulkenberry, Actress from Indiana Univerity who played Mary Jane in Spiderman

The Knicks will take on the Indiana Pacers Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Madison Square Garden.

Lindsay Beisheim, Simone Buteau, Sarah Miller and Maryssa Sklaroff of InFocus contributed reporting.
