This past Friday, the Vikings played Wilcox for the second time in a week, winning 5-4. The first time they matched up this season, two days prior, the Vikings took a 12-3 loss on the Charger’s ground.

“Good pitching kept us close throughout the game and our offense clutched up in extra innings to win,” Nate Donaker (‘24) said.

Pitching this game were Donaker and Henry Harding (’25), pitching five and four innings respectively. Kanghee Cho (’25) also walked off the game, which played a part in the team’s win.

The game lasted nine innings, where the Vikings Ashton Chow (’25) scored the final point that gave them the win. Chow had recently been bumped up from the Paly Junior Varsity Baseball team and scored his first run on Varsity in this game.

“I was really excited to have this opportunity and wanted to make the most of it,” Chow said.

In the top of the third inning, Vikings catcher Dexter Cleveringa (’25) took a hit to the helmet by a ball thrown by Wilcox’s pitcher, which resulted in a concussion. Cleveringa was replaced by Carter Bader (’24) as the catcher for the remainder of the game.
