Field Hockey ties 0-0 after face-off against Presentation

On a breezy Monday, the girls team faced-off against Presentation, ultimately failing to score any goals but also block Presentation from scoring as well.

Yesterday, Monday October 17th on a very windy afternoon, Paly’s Field Hockey team tied 0-0 with Presentation in their first face-off of the season.

“Presentation has brought us the heat in the past. We really wanted to come out on top but a tie is acceptable.” Senior Aspen Stitt said.

In the beginning of the game, Paly started strong with senior Rebecca Fakatou completing over 7 passes in the first half.

“We were playing really well and communicating well. We just need to work on our ball handling, for us to actually score against a team like Presentation” Senior Rebecca Fakatou said.

The second half followed suit of the first half with Senior Ella Bishop showing off her stick skills against the Presentation defense. Ultimately neither Paly or Presentation scored in the second half with many strong drives failing.

“The regular season is wrapping up. We have some solid communication and effort from all our teammates. I just want to see it more on the field.” Senior Ella Bishop said.

Overall, the girls played intensely, worked hard in pressure plays, and ultimately had to work on their offense and stick skills if they wanted to be more of a threat against teams like Presentation.
