Paly cross country competed in their league finals on Tuesday at Crystal Springs. It was their last race before the CCS championships on November 11.

For the girls, sophomore Amaya Bharadwaj placed first, with juniors Megan Lemoine and Romy Kiessling close behind placing ninth and tenth, respectively. Overall, the girls team placed second out of eight teams, only behind Los Altos.

As for the boys, senior Grant Morgenfeld placed first, and Zachary Spain followed behind, placing seventh. Paly’s second fastest runner, Tristan Kippes, suffered an injury during the race, forcing him to stop.

“With [Kippes], I think we would have won the race, but these things happen, and there isn’t much any of us can do about it”, senior Henry Liu said.

The boys placed fifth overall, but have high hopes for the upcoming CCS championships.

“We’re moving on, and at this point, we’re just looking forward to CCS”, senior Grant Morgenfeld said. “Our roster is changing a bit, but I think we can still win our division in CCS”.
