Paly boys track and field secured strong placing going into the De Anza Finals. The team showed great perseverance and put on a brilliant display throughout the meet, with standout performances across several events, despite the difficult competition.
Junior Lilia Kuzmicheva had a strong 200 meter sprint, securing a personal record.
“I was feeling really good before my run, and when the gun sounded, I had one of my best starts, and I stayed strong around the bend and had a really good run,” Kuzmicheva said. “It was a major confidence booster going into the later parts of the season, and I’m really proud of my improvement overall.”
Daniel Rainey also had a great personal run, running a 55.42 in the 400 meters, a solid run for this late in the season.
“I had a solid run today overall. I thought it was overall a strong run from me with the back injury, and hopefully once i’m all healthy I can improve on the run in the future,” Rainey said.
The team’s effort in the De Anza SCVAL Trials gives them a solid foundation as they head into the finals in the recent future. Paly’s track and field team remains focused on getting better with every run as they look to close out the season with even stronger results.
