The Paly Vikings fell to the Santa Clara Bruins during senior night in the last game of the year. The Vikings finished the season with an overall 11-9 record and an 8-6 league record.
Despite their loss, sophomore, Kendall Butler had an incredible game, with one run, one double and one RBI. Freshman, Eleanor Wells, also had an impressive game, with one stolen base and one run.
Santa Clara proved to be an impressive and worthy component, as they went into this game with a 9-4 league record and an 11-11 overall record. The team overtook the Vikings to end the season third in league.
According to sophomore, Laila Joshi, the team played well, but struggled against the prepared Bruins.
“We played well, but the energy was lower this game,” Joshi said. “The whole team could work on our consistency in terms of energy.”
Despite these struggles, Joshi shouted out the team for a great season.
“Throughout the season, we improved a lot and our team chemistry is a lot better,” Joshi said.
Overall, the Vikings suffered defeat in the hands of the Bruins in the last game of the year. Looking into the future, the Vikings are looking forward to next season and they are excited to work on their techniques to further improve and dominate the ’25-’26 season.
