Despite a valiant effort, Paly’s girls golf team lost to Los Altos during their match on Wednesday. Despite a victory against Los Altos during their first match-up of the season, the team was unable to keep the success during Wednesday’s confrontation.
Losing by 17 strokes, the team recorded their largest deficit of the season, an unexpected result that frustrated the team, especially as they continue to contend for the league title.
“As a team, we were mostly upset because it [Los Altos] was a team we could’ve beaten,” Jessica Wong (’26) said.
The team started the match strong, starting with a lead before momentum began to slip away. While an upset, the team hopes to continue strong as they head into the season’s final matches.
“The seasons almost over,” Wong said. “We’re hoping to get a couple more results, finish strong in our last few before senior night and CCS.”
With a current overall record of 5-2, the team will next travel to Wilcox, hoping to regain momentum. During their last match-up with Wilcox, Paly won by three strokes and will hope to repeat past success.
