It’s no secret that Paly’s football team is having a tough year, and following their recent loss, I think it’s safe to say they have reached their boiling point.

Someone who saw the fight happen live, Theodore Williams had this to say; “It was unlike any moment I’ve ever experienced watching a football game, let alone a Paly game.” When asked about what prompted this, he said, “The moment really felt like a culmination of the player’s frustrations with the season and it was just the wrong time for a M-A player to have a cheap shot on one of them.”

Williams is 1oo% correct about one thing, PALY has been feeling very frustrated on their team performance as a whole. On October 25th, 2025 Paly was routed 40-14 and lost their 8th game of the year. The incident on the field occurred towards the end of the game; when there was only 3 minutes remaining.

The incident occurred during a punt, when PALY was attempting to get garbage time points to make the game look more respectable. A Palo Alto player was pushed to the ground and that triggered a teammate to slam the person who was pushed down. This was more aggressive than the first, causing a penalty, until they eventually called it. The Menlo-Atherton player was on the floor for three minutes before the refs ended the game.
