After losing to Los Altos in an away game, Palo Alto was able to mount a comeback on Monday.
“As a team, we’re all doing pretty well,” sophomore Genevieve Lee said. “For the most part, we are doing a great job keeping people uplifted.”
Even though they lost, PALY kept it competitive in the first set. The score at the end of the first set was 29-27. This is unusual because normally a winner would be decided after a squad gets to 25. However, you have to win by 2 points, and both teams were neck and neck with each other.
Their fight in the first set correlated to the following sets, where they dominated in most of the statistics.
In the 2nd and 3rd sets, Palo Alto was able to keep Mountain View under 20, which shifted the momentum in their favor. They were able to close Mountain View out in the fourth set (out of the possible 5) in a score of 25-21.
A good chunk of Palo Alto’s success lies within the coach instruction. The teams achievement can be credited to coach Chris Crader’s active ability in substitution, (which was applied over 5 times) whenever they started to lose momentum.
Overall, the team is able to add another tally in the win column as they continue moving through their regular season.
