The saying, “all good things come to an end” could not be more true in Palo Alto’s recent loss. After winning another away game against Los Gatos, PALY came back home and snapped their winning streak with a loss to Milpitas.
Sophomore Genevieve Lee said they as a team they have to “stay disciplined,” in order to win. The team as a whole lacked this as the night continued to progress.
In the first couple sets, PALY kept it close as they lost 25-23 in the first, and 26-24 in the 2nd. The score went over 25 because in volleyball, you have to win by 2, and it was 24-24 at one point in the set. It seemed like they lost steam after that however, as they only put up 17 to close out the 3rd.
PALY is currently 2nd in their league and division with a record of 21-7. As the season is winding down, they look to rebound in an attempt for a playoff push. Last year, they ended up losing in the semifinals 3-2 against Los Gatos. In order to get there, they had to win 2 playoff games in the rounds prior.
Next week on October 28th, they have their final game of the season at Homestead.
