Paly Girls Basketball overcame Gunderson in a dominant win at home on Monday, 12/8. The final score was 63-25 in favor of the Vikings.
The team looked to improve their record to 2-0 on the season following another dominant win against Mt. Eden. “They made some tough shots, but overall our defense stayed strong, and we were able to hold them to 25 points,” Sophomore Abigail Neumann said. “We moved the ball well on offense and got easy shots and rebounded well on both ends of the court to limit their opportunities.”
The Vikings accomplished their goal dominantly, defeating Gunderson 63–25 while controlling the game on both ends of the court. Palo Alto’s defense limited Gunderson’s scoring opportunities, while the offense found consistent success throughout the game. The Vikings built a sizable lead early behind strong ball movement and efficient shooting, creating a gap that Gunderson was unable to overcome. By halftime, Palo Alto had firmly taken control, and they maintained their momentum through the final buzzer.
With the convincing win, the Vikings head into the rest of their season with confidence, looking to carry this momentum through the regular season and into the playoffs.
