Paly Girls Basketball cruises past Lynbrook 47-20 at home on Senior Night Tuesday, riding into CCS playoffs with their final home victory.
According to sophomore Abigail Neumann, the team went into the game with a lot of energy and excitement to make Senior Night the best it could be for their senior.
“Throughout the game, we played very aggressively,” Neumann said. “We made sure to raise the level with each point.”
The Vikings’ defense dominated from the opening tip, holding Lynbrook to just 20 points while building a commanding lead. The defensive intensity set the bar for each game to come heading into CCS.
Senior Night provided a very emotional setting for the win, with the team’s one Senior getting all the attention. The Vikings redirected that emotion into a concentrated performance, never letting Lynbrook have a chance to threaten.
The strong victory allows Paly to carry that momentum into CCS with confidence. The team’s ability to distribute the ball and knock down shots displayed the offensive strategy they intend to bring to each game down the line.
Paly’s passing and efficient shooting created scoring opportunities all night, with numerous players contributing to the total score. The Vikings’ ball movement will prove to be crucial as the competition will only become tougher in CCS.
“This game showed we’re ready for CCS,” Neumann said. “When we play unselfish basketball and knock down our shots, we can compete with some of the best teams in our area.”
