Paly boy’s soccer loses 2-1 in a heartbreaker against rival Los Gatos High School. Soham Narang (‘21) scored off of a penalty kick and got the Vikings’ first goal of the season.

This marks the third straight game in which new boys varsity soccer head coach, Rusty Millard, and his team are unable to register their first win of the season.

The game was by far the team’s best overall performance this season, registering more shots and overall chances in the attacking third than any of their two previous games combined.

However, the match was decided by a late Los Gatos header that reached the Vikings’ net in the closing seconds of the game.

Fraser Phillips (‘22), a member of the team, acknowledged the chippy, back-and-forth action that this game brought. “The game had a lot of end-to-end action,” he said. “It felt like either team could have come away with a win.”

The Vikings will hope to earn their first win of the season when they meet Homestead High School away from home this Friday, the 26th of March.
