JV Gymnastics takes its first win at Los Altos (Brief)

JV gymnastics celebrates its first ever team win over Gunn, West, Los Altos and Mountain View at its meet Monday, Apr. 23 at Los Altos. Varsity gymnast Sarah Miller (’12) also placed second on vault, scoring a 9.25, losing 0.05 points off of the 9.3 start value, and finishing 0.0.5 points behind the first place vault due to a step on landing. Paly’s training partner, Gunn, placed third as a team.

Paly’s other varsity gymnast, Sophie Jorasch (’12) did not compete due to a sprained ankle, but will return to practice this week.

JV gymnast Michelle Yin (’14) took fifth in all-around, with 33.900 points. She also tied for fourth on beam, scoring 8.300. Andrea Clerici (’15) took first in vault, scoring 9.500.

Gunn’s Rachel Mock took first in the all-around, scoring 36.650, as well as first in bars, beam and floor. Titan Kimberly Liang took second in the all-around, scoring 36.200, and finishing second on vault and beam.

The girls will step on the floor again next Monday, Apr. 30 at Twisters Sports Center in their first home meet of the season. They will be up against Christopher, Cupertino, Gilroy and Gunn at 5:30 p.m.
