Paly baseball defeated San Ramon Valley in a close game on Saturday afternoon; the Vikings won 8-7.

“It was awesome, we fought hard and got through some adversary. It was a big win today, we came back, it feels good,” Isaac Feldstein (’13) said.

Jack Cleasby (’14) scored the only run in the first inning, making the score 1-0. Later on in the second inning, Cleasby’s single knocked in Anthony Lim (’14) for a second run for Paly.

Play remained even throughout the next innings until the score was 7-6 Wolves at the bottom of the sixth innning. With two outs already, Feldstein smacked a double into the outfield, driving Michael Strong (’13) and Austin Poore (’13) home, making the final runs of the game and bring the score to 8-7.

“It felt good to hit the game winning double,” Feldstein said. “Last game, I hit two homers so I’m feeling hot. It feels good to come through for my team.”

Although the game remained close for all seven innings, coach Erick Raich is pleased about how the game turned out.

“Good teams find a way to win. We are swinging the bats exceptionally well right now. It’s good when one area falters, and another area picks it up. Good teams do that and we did that today,” Raich said.

The boys will face Menlo on Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
