The Paly Vikings had a strong season, going 11-7-1 and outscoring their opponents 54-33. They finished the season at third place in the El Camino League and advanced to new heights by qualifying for Division One CCS.
The Vikings have improved greatly from the previous season, where they went 6-11-1, finishing 6th in their league. They have started to close the gaps between themselves and the best of the best. Senior Nina Faust attributed a lot of their success to hard work and dedication.
“We put in a lot of work during practice into off-ball movement and passes, and bringing that work into games helped us a lot,” Faust said. “Also, the defensive players often stayed late to practice together, which led us to having a strong defensive corner unit.”
On Senior Night, the team honored seven seniors for their efforts and contributions: Tarika Pillay, Charlotte Barclay, Sarah Thieman, Camille Trimbur, Annelise Sailer, Roni Horovitz, and Nina Faust.
Even though the Vikings’ season didn’t end in the outcome they had wanted, they were able to find many positives and highlights from across the season.
“I think we had a great season overall, and there was so much improvement in players’ individual skills and also the team’s chemistry,” junior Ella Renazco-Sperling said.
