Paly baseball won on their senior night Wednesday, by a score of 4-0 against Los Gatos.

The Viking hosted the league-champion Wildcats, who came in with a 12-0 league record. The team honored their 4 seniors, C/INF Russ Filter, OF/P Tyler Mostofizadeh, OF Sal Meehan, and P Sam Papp, prior to the win.

“Having family and friends there supporting me was great,” Filter said. “The team did a good job making it feel special.”

Despite the seniors being celebrated, it was two juniors in particular who led the charge. Nate Donaker (’24) threw a complete game shutout, tallying 10 strikeouts and only allowing four baserunners. On the offensive side of things, Zach Thom (’24) left the yard for his first home run of the season, the second of his career, both of which have come against Los Gatos.

“Nate Donaker was outstanding on the mound and controlled the zone really well,” Filter said. “We also backed his pitching with a great offensive day including Zach Thom’s homer which really sparked us to finish the game with a win.”

Filter and Charlie Bates (’24) also contributed at the plate, adding a double each.

Overall, it was a great day for Paly baseball and a fantastic sendoff for their seniors.
