The Return of Paly Athletics
While online learning has stripped Paly of its spirit, culture, and student life, after-school practices at Paly have brought the light back onto campus. The return has not been easy. The pandemic has challenged athletes with reduced practice time and limiting restrictions, but even if cheerful shouts of encouragement are muffled by a mask and six feet of distance, the sense of joy is undeniable.
Editors Note: This story was written and researched prior to Santa Clara county reentering the purple tier on Nov. 17, which prompted school officials to suspend both indoor and outdoor workouts. Hopefully our athletes can get back to training soon.

> Athlete: Giving Players a Chance to be More
With California being the first state to pass a bill that allows college athletes to get paid with regulations, Stanford football hosts their first ever camp run by the athletes themselves. Their first camp, held at Hillview Middle School, had a huge show out of young athletes who look up to these players at the collegiate level.

Students of The Game
Behind every touchdown catch or third-down stop, there is a level of mental preparation that fans don't see. Many people believe that physical practice is the most prominent cause for on-field success, but one of the most important aspects of preparation takes place not on the field, but in front of a screen. Watching film is instrumental in team improvement, and can give players who watch-students of the game-a competitive edge.
