Girls’ lacrosse abolishes Pioneer 16-0

The Palo Alto girls’ lacrosse team dominated against the Pioneer Mustangs on Thursday at home. The Vikings defeated the Mustangs 16-0.

The game started off with the Vikings taking the clear lead, a lead that they maintained throughout the game. Memorable shots from the Vikings included goals by Megan Valencia (‘15), Allie Peery (‘15) and Paige Bara (‘15). The Vikings ended the first half leading the Mustangs 11-0.

The second half was also dominated by the Vikings, a scoring five more points to end the game with a score of 16-0.

“I thought it went very, very well. We were in control which was nice from the beginning to the end,” Nesbitt said.

She also has plans to work on the ball handling in upcoming practices.

“I think we will continue to work on what we worked on after the previous game, like stopping the ball and focusing on stopping the other team’s strong hand is one of them, and the second one is keeping the ball movement behind and to look for cutters,” Nesbitt said.

Allie Peery (‘15) was pleased with her team’s performance and

“I think we played really well. We executed everything really well, from the draws in the beginning to the attacks,” Peery said.

The Vikings will play next on Tuesday, May 5th, at home.
