Paly’s badminton team is prepping to win — and redeem itself for its losses earlier this season.

Led by captains Flavia Stiglich (‘17) and Michael Chau (‘18), training sessions have been both physically demanding and an opportunity for players to develop connections with one
another. The latter has been particularly prevalent of late: the underway construction of Paly’s gym has forced the badminton team to make the trip in shared buses to use Gunn High School’s gym.

These rides seem to have been a blessing, at least according to Stiglich, who is currently advocating for a greater awareness of the “team sport” aspects of badminton. She hopes to see
the newfound connections between many players in the court.
As for the upcoming game, watch out for that focus on teamwork from all team players and Chau’s and Stiglich’s solid leadership.

“My personal goal for this season is to end the season undefeated,” Stiglich said to Viking in its March edition. Only time will tell if her goal can be made a reality.

Paly will be playing its oldest rival, Gunn High School, from 3:30pm – 5:00pm this Thursday (3/13/17). The game will be held at Gunn, on 780 Arastradero Road.
